Pastor Dr. Thomas Techie Ocran
President, Southern Ghana Union Conference
Pastor Thomas Techie Ocran serves as the President of the Southern Ghana Union after being elected at the 2015 and 2020 Sessions of the Union. He began his church career as a Church Pastor in South Ghana Conference and rose through the ranks to become the Executive Secretary of the South-West Ghana Conference from 1996 to 2003. With this rich experience, he was appointed as the President of the same conference in 2011, and later called to the Ghana Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church, the national headquarters of the Church in Ghana. He responded to the call to occupy the office of the Executive Secretary in 2014.
A first generation Adventist, Pastor Thomas Techie Ocran was born in Cape Coast in January 4, 1957. By virtue of God’s providence, he was ordained on 8th January, 1994. He is married to Mrs. Dina Ocran, a businesswoman. The couple has five children; four girls and a boy: Afua, Phyllis, Judith, Judy and Nathan. An ordained minister, Pastor Ocran holds a bachelor’s degree in theology and a diploma in ministry, and completed a master’s degree in religion and a doctorate in ministry from Andrews University.
